How do you sanitize your newborn props?
I frequently get asked how I sanitize my props, wraps, bonnets etc.
So here’s a little info!
-I am a traveling photographer, so there is no need to bring your babe out of the comfort of your house.
-Everything comes sanitized and ready for use for your babe upon my arrival!
-After each session, my delicate items are soaked in a mixture of free and clear, and a laundry sanitizer. (Did you know JUST washing your items WONT sanitize them? That’s why I use the laundry sanitizer!)
-Any other items such as fabric drops, and under layers are thrown in the wash with free and clear and the laundry sanitizer as well.
-Fabric items are either dried on high temperature, or if they are delicate- they are hung and air dried.
-Props such as bowls, buckets, trenches and crates are sprayed or wiped with Lysol wipes and THEN steamed.
-If I have my assistant (A nurse) coming with me, I make sure to ask that she has not been sick within a month- to be able to attend a session with me.
-I lysol the area where I sit my props down in every home session.
What is the newborn booking process?
After your newborn is born-
Let me know right away after baby is born and I will typically schedule you for 5-12 days after birth. I prefer to schedule 5-12 days after because that's when baby is the sleepiest.
I always try to accommodate special circumstances that might prevent photos from happening within that time frame.
Sessions will take place in your home and will take usually take 2-3 hours with packing up my newborn items and unpacking. It is never a rushed experience and there is always time for feeds and baby snuggles in-between. During your session, you are more than welcome to watch me work, take a nap (my personal choice), or do work around your home.
After your session-
You will be so elated and super anxious to see the images I took from your session of your sweet little baby. I will post a sneak on my page that you can share with family and friends a few days after your session. You will be sent a gallery of lightly edited proofs within 1 week for you to select your photos from. You will have the option to select your photos and purchase more if you'd like. Once your photos have been selected, your photos will be delivered to you through my my private online gallery within 2-4 weeks, but I always try and have them over to you before that.
